Foundation Social Sciences education
The foundation introduces students to a broad range of knowledge including sociology, anthropology, the principles of economics and about the international economy to provide a comprehensive overall education in social science. This foundation in science specialises in the Social Sciences to assist students in reaching a GCE 'A' level equivalent standard.
The Foundation Certificate in Social Sciences contains two elements:
Your Social Sciences education: Academic Skills Modules
In this Foundation Course you will develop key academic skills including research, writing, presentation and analysis.
Subject Modules: an education in social science
The foundation Social Sciences education will cover the basics of your chosen area of study. On completion of your education in social science students will then progress to more specialised studies that focus on the topics and skills required to engage in their chosen undergraduate degree course.
English Language tuition is also provided for international students who need it.
All modules are specifically designed to meet a foundation level standard to give a well-rounded social sciences education to match the specific needs of our international students. The course is taught with the goal of you progressing to the University of Glasgow on it's completion.
A Social Sciences Education: Progression to the University of Glasgow
You will progress directly to Year 2 of a University of Glasgow degree course upon successfully finishing this foundation in Social Sciences at the required level.
